Courtesy of the shyest mandolin player in the world, Tim Blake, who kindly transferred them from VHS to DVD for us, here's a couple of songs we did for a now-defunct cable telly station back in 1995 or thereabouts. Sound quality's not great, but at least you can see what Chris looked like with hair. They start & stop a bit abruptly thanks to my ham-fisted editing, but I thought I'd spare you having to listen to the presenter wittering on about the weather and some lost pets over the top!
This line-up features Tim on mandolin, Lenny on whistle & Pete on drums, as well as the usual suspects on guitar, fiddle & bass...
Our latest recording, 'An Arrangement with Myself'
Yes, it's been gestating away for months, but with one last push and a slap on the backside it's been delivered! We've called it "An Arrangement with Myself", and it's eleven tracks of unsurpassed loveliness. Well, a couple of them are a bit noisy, but you know what I mean.
It's been uploaded onto Last.fm (see below) so you can hear it in it's awesome entireity there, or listen to clips on our TRACKS page. Even better, buy a copy - see contact details on the TRACKS page.
Many thanks to Simon Mauger down there in Maiden Bradley at the Product23 studio, for all his help with this one!
Here's a nice little site to play around with: Last.fm is a music networking site, a bit like MySpace, but it's all about the music - you can listen to tracks by anyone you can think of, plus other bands that sound similar to them. Whenever a track is listened to, it goes into the 'pool' of music available for 'scrobbling' ( I know, I know... bear with me!), which means other people will have it recommended to them.
Right, so we need everyone we know to sign up to Last.fm and start listening to our tracks - the more listens we get, the more 'airplay' we get!
So, sign up with Last.fm here: http://www.last.fm/ (it's all free, of course), and then visit our Band Pages here:
http://www.last.fm/music/Billy+in+the+Lowground and get listening!
And while you're listening, what could be better than the visual feast of grizzled, hirsute musicians on display on Flickr - if you fancy taking a look (and who wouldn't) click here.
If you've taken any pics of us over the years, please email us a copy & we'll put them up, as well.
(Not just the pretty ones either, or we'll never get any...)
